Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT) is a pioneer in engineering education, marking 12 successful years since its establishment in 2011 in Baruipur, Kolkata. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
The institute's achievements include being ranked eighth among the "Best Emerging Engineering Colleges in India" in 2017, and the number one "Best Emerging Engineering College in West Bengal" by Times Engineering for four consecutive years (2016-2019). In 2020, Zee 24 Ghanta honored GMIT with the "Best Emerging and Promising Engineering College Award".
In 2019, GMIT joined hands with JIS Group, the largest educational initiative in Eastern India, benefiting from their 25 years of experience. This partnership has propelled GMIT towards excellence and garnered attention from Fortune 500 companies for recruitment.
My time at Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT) has been nothing short of transformative. Graduating in 2024, I am thrilled to share that I have recently joined Unibit Private Limited, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my career. My experience in GMIT during my 4 years here has been life changing. GMIT gave me an opportunity to get into a paid internship program from the 7th semester onwards where I could understand the inner workings of a firm as well as have a firm grasp on what the industry currently expects from an engineering graduate to know. This helped me get an edge over students from other engineering colleges, as I already started working on my shortcomings and honed my skills to become the best version of myself, all the while I was learning! I am currently placed at BAVISTECH TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD where my experience as an intern in my last year of graduation really helped warmed me up to the corporate life! Studying Computer Science Engineering at Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology was truly a transformative experience for me.
